Middy's Adventures in Wotaland: Analyzing the Preliminary Sousenkyo Results
We all know that the preliminary result is really not much to go by. The rankings are going to fluctuate like crazy, and the end result will be basically unrecognizable from what we have right now. But I think there are some prominent trends that we cannot dismiss.
The fall of AKB48 and the rise…
Reblogging this because I already know I’d break the 250 word limit on a response. And I hope to god that I make sense and deviate too far off topic.
I’d have to agree with several of your points. Especially with being ready for a new era of AKB. This past year the “next-gen ace” trio of Mayuyu, Paru and Jurina have already been cemented in my mind. With both shuffles of AKB and SKE and the advent of the massive amount of graduations I’ve been able to witness the talents of girls that probably would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
And I think you’re right. This current generation of Kennkyuusei haven’t gone unnoticed. We’re beginning to see them more and more and if anyone has been looking at my blog, which I doubt so I’ll say it again anyway, I’ve been caught up in the push Meru and Mio have been receiving. Granted in HKT’s case I’ve been paying more attention to the already established members of Team H but I won’t deny the diamonds that I’ve seen in their KKS.
With the ways things are now, and as much as the SKE fan in me doesn’t want this to happen, I can see the concurrent position Jurina becoming permanent I dunno about Miyuki but I’ve seen Jurina place her position within AKB ahead of her ace position within SKE several times. Heck just re-watch the Bokudan concert and watch how many AKB songs she shows up in VS. her SKE appearances. I don’t think it’s a matter of loyalty but rather a young woman’s ambition to top those before her.
I think in these critical stages of NMB’s aim for the top, which for now seems to be their own solo appearance at the NHK Kohaku, NMB can’t afford to lose one of their most critical core members. Besides Miyuki never really came of as the ambitious type like that anyway. But I’ve been wrong before.
Lastly, Yes, I have forgotten all about most of the scandals. Then again I’ve always had the “big deal, shit happened, so let’s just keep moving forward” attitude towards them. As you said I wouldn’t be surprised if Miichan gets re-promoted to a Team sometime soon. And if Sasshi manages to repeat what she did last year (and I can’t believe I’m about to say this despite the fact my Kami Oshi is Yuko) or even pull out on top I wouldn’t be surprised if she is offered a concurrent position. May be a tad bit tricky considering that she’s also co-theater manager for HKT though.
Like I said to myself last year after Gingham Check was all said and done. This year’s Elections are going to be bumpy. We’ve seen preliminary results go out the window before and I’m sure that this year will be no different.
